Overview

The Everest Base Camp Trek is a popular and breathtaking adventure in the Himalayas of Nepal. Located in the south of the Himalayas, this trek offers stunning views of many 6000-8000 meter mountains and culminates at the base camp of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world at 8,848.86 meters (29,031.7 feet) above sea level. The trek, which takes 11 days, features diverse landscapes, rich biodiversity, and the unique cultural heritage of the Sherpa people.

The Everest Base Camp Trek begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the starting point of the trek. From there, you will embark on a journey through lush rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and charming villages. The trail gradually ascends, providing you with stunning views of snow-capped peaks, including Everest and Ama Dablam. As you trek deeper into the mountains, you will pass through traditional Sherpa villages where you can immerse yourself in their unique customs and traditions. The trail leads you through the Khumbu Valley, surrounded by towering cliffs and flanked by glaciers, creating a picturesque setting.

The final stretch of the trek takes you to Everest Base Camp, situated at an altitude of 5,364 meters. The base camp offers panoramic views of the majestic mountains, including Mount Everest itself. Throughout the trek, you will be accompanied by experienced guides who will ensure your safety and provide insights into the local culture, flora, and fauna. Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be received by our staff or guide with a warm welcome and then transferred to a hotel in the hub of the city.

We start our journey with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a trek to Phakding. The trail passes through charming villages, monasteries, and lush forests. Upon arrival in Phakding, you will have time to explore the village and enjoy the peaceful environment.

The trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar involves crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River and ascending through pine forests. Namche Bazaar, a bustling market town, offers spectacular views of the Himalayas and a chance to acclimatize.

A rest day for acclimatization with the option to explore Namche Bazaar or take a short hike to Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest and Ama Dablam.

The trail to Tengboche offers stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Tengboche Monastery, one of the largest in the Khumbu region, provides a serene setting for rest and reflection.

The trek to Dingboche passes through lush forests and rivers, with views of Ama Dablam and Island Peak. Dingboche, a traditional Sherpa village, offers a unique cultural experience.

The trail to Lobuche offers views of the Khumbu Glacier and passes through memorials for climbers who lost their lives on Everest. Lobuche provides a glimpse of the harsh conditions of high-altitude trekking.

The trek to GorakShep follows the Khumbu Glacier, and from there, a hike to Everest Base Camp. The base camp offers close-up views of the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding peaks.

Early morning hike to Kalapathar for sunrise views of Everest, followed by a descent to Pheriche. The trail offers different perspectives of the landscape and opportunities to spot wildlife.

The trek back to Namche Bazaar involves both ascents and descents, passing through lush forests and villages. Namche Bazaar offers a comfortable place to rest and explore.

The final day of trekking takes you back to Lukla, where you can relax and celebrate the completion of the trek.

A scenic flight back to Kathmandu, where you will be transferred to your hotel for rest and relaxation.

Well, it’s going to be your last night as per your itinerary, so one of our staff members will help you with sightseeing according to your interests, helping you find gifts for your loved ones during shopping, and finally, a traditional cuisine farewell dinner from the Top Trek Spirit family.

After spending an adventurous holiday in Nepal, we will drop you off at the airport from the hotel with lots of unforgettable memories and love on behalf of the Top Trek Spirit family.
